Are You Looking For A Full-Time Position?
No, thank you – I’ve realized it’s not for me. I’m quite happy with my freelancing lifestyle and I’ve learned that no matter how sweet the deal is it’s best if I don’t take it. I’m all about work/life balance.
Are You Able to Take on Large Projects, Since it’s Only You?
I have a lot of talented friends in this industry. I can either work with them or refer you to them. I have worked on some very large projects.
What Is Your Availability?
I often stumble on this most basic question from potential clients, “What’s your availability like in the next month?” Uhhh … running through my head are the four other potential clients I’ve been talking with who may or may not hire me and the other two projects that are at a standstill waiting for clients to get their content to me but which can and will suddenly spring to life maybe tomorrow, maybe next week - who knows!
As a general rule of thumb, I’m available or will be shortly. My time is booked on a first come, first serve basis. You might be able to bump yourself up the list if you are very cool to work with or your project is especially interesting to me.
Do You Know JSP, XSLT, Javascript, Ajax, PhP, Ruby On Rails, or How To Speak Klingon?
Obviously, I specialize design and in building sites using the most current web standards (xhtml and css). I can use JavaScript (writing the most basic scripts or finding and manipulating the scripts I need), but am by no means an expert at it. It terms of backend programming, I am familiar with several languages, but don’t do that work myself. However I am quite experienced in working with programmers and integrating my work with theirs. Bottom line is: I am not myself a programmer, but I play nicely with them, and I know some good ones to play with. ;o)
Rates
Hourly I charge $80. However unless I”m coding only, I prefer to work within a fixed bid on a project-per-project basis. To get an idea of what your project might cost, please fill out my request form, below.
